Vision
statement
To bring the principles of biomedical nanoengineering out of the lab and to the general public.
About the founder
Josh Seaberg studied chemical engineering at Oklahoma State University where he developed an interest in understanding transport phenomena and their derivations from first principles. He applied these interests into his early research projects designing water disinfection and filtration systems. He continued his pursuit of chemical engineering by completing a masters degree in the lab of Joshua D Ramsey where he developed biocompatible nanomaterials to encapsulate therapeutic proteins. In earning this degree, he became well versed in nanoparticle characterization and synthesis techniques. Upon completion of his studies, he immediately enrolled in the dual degree MD/PhD program at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences center. He earned his PhD under the tutelage of Priyabrata Mukherjee, a world-renowned nanoscientist specializing in utilizing gold nanoparticles to study cancer biology. He became an expert on cellular endocytosis of nanoparticles and designed hybrid organic/inorganic nanosystems that alter the function of cancer cells to cause them to take up more nanoparticles.
